With the sizzling economic growth of exceeding 8% annually for the past three decades, no wonder a quarter of overseas Chinese have decided to go back to China and seize more opportunities back home.
For 2006 to 2010, the Chinese government is offering more favorable policies for returnees who want to launch start-ups by creating some 50 special technological incubation centers over the five-year period. The question is where the best place is for you to realize your value.
This June, a 9-member delegation from municipal government of Suzhou, Jiangsu will visit NYC, led by the Director for Office of Talented Experts of Suzhou Government, with the dedicated purpose of introducing the Suzhou advantages to a broad audience and attracting more overseas talents with lucrative cash incentive packages.
Suzhou is the best city, and China-Singapore Industrial Park is the best entrepreneurial incubator in China for overseas students to either set up their own businesses or to look for opportunities in thousands of overseas companies and joint ventures located there, including 113 of Fortune 500 companies. With its pro-business, pro-western management style, nearly all English-speaking officials, almost non-existed corruptions, and beautiful low-pollution natural environment, Suzhou sets itself apart from other cities in China.
There is real money in Suzhou looking for investment opportunities in China and overseas now. Suzhou, as one of the richest city in China, has plunked out billions yuans of funding to encourage new technology firms. In 2007, Suzhou Industrial Park alone has awarded 230 million yuan RMB to dozens of hi-tech firms (with PhotoAnn as one of them) in the Park.
