| Rutgers Chinese Student and Scholar Association (RCSSA) is one of the leading organizations for Chinese students and scholars at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey at New Brunswick. We organize celebration parties on traditional Chinese festivals and other social activities to make life colorful at Rutgers; we hold talks and seminars to help members cope with life in the States; last but not least, we help new students with airport pickup and their first days at Rutgers, this "middle of nowhere"! We are also known for our friendly partnership in hosting joint activities with our sponsors and other organizations.

Mission Statement

1. RCSSA is an independent, non-political and non-profit organization dedicated to promoting social, intellectual and cultural activities for Chinese students and scholars at Rutgers and other interested members of Rutgers community.
2. It also exists as a channel for information and culture exchange between its members and other organizations at Rutgers.

| The operational part of RCSSA, RCSSA-board, is a group of volunteers who are willing to contribute their time and work to RCSSA members and local Chinese community at large. It is charged with coordinating, administrating and organizing RCSSA activities. | In 2004, five volunteer members initiated a constitution draft for RCSSA, and this is one of the milestone events for RCSSA to step toward democracy. The constitution was officially established on Feb. 18th , 2005 based on member votes. Among 73 people who voted for the constitution, 71 supported it, 1 voted against it and 1 abstained. The supporting rate of the constitution is 97.2%. |

1. Every currently registered Chinese student and scholar at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey-New Brunswick and UMDNJ automatically becomes a member of RCSSA. RCSSA membership is also open to all other graduate students at Rutgers. Feel free to contact us if you are interested in becoming a member. The rights and obligations of members are specified in RCSSA Constitution
